Austin has 39 motel rooms and 2 Bed and Breakfast places one with 2 rooms,
and the other with 4 rooms each, . We are a small community and everything is within walking distance of the motels. There is no shuttle or taxi service in our area.
The Emma Nevada Town Hall, which is the restored Methodist Church, is the largest facility available. With 2,805 square feet, a stage area, one uni-sex bathroom and medium parking area. The Austin Courtroom is also used for meetings, upstairs with a small elevator for handicap or elderly, bathrooms situated downstairs. It has approximately 1000 sq feet and is still used as a courtroom and can not be rearranged. Bench seating for viewers and a table with chairs in court area. The Austin Youth Center has 2,133 square feet with entertainment for the kids, a small kitchen facility and two bathrooms. There is a vacant lot next to the building and Main Street Parking. The Austin Senior Center has 1,709 feet with a full kitchen set-up, tables and chairs, two bathrooms and a small parking area. It has one large room and another smaller room, which opens into the large room. Contact Austin Senior Center, Stacie Brooks at 775-964-2338, PO Box 128, Austin NV 89310.
The Bert T Gandolfo Park has a pit BBQ set-up, grates for Briquettes, picnic table, an out-door swimming pool, baseball field, tennis court and horseshoe pitching area. There are two bathrooms and a large parking area with enough space for a large bus. The pool is closed in the winter. Normally open from the first of June through the end of August. All buildings are handicap accessible and available year round. Cleaning deposits are required at all facilities, amount varies per building. |
